The Canadian and South American premiers of ‘A2-B-C’ have just been announced! More information on the screenings, including details on the first time Ian’s two films about children living in Fukushima, ‘In the Grey Zone’ (2012) and ‘A2-B-C’ (2013), will be screening together, can be found HERE.
‘A2-B-C’ to Have Theatrical Release in Japan
At a press screening in Tokyo today, it was confirmed that Ian’s feature-length documentary ‘A2-B-C’, the second in his series about children living in contaminated areas of Fukushima, will be released in cinemas across Japan. Starting May 10, the film will be screened twice daily for an initial three week period in Tokyo. Announcements regarding projections in other cities in Japan are expected in the coming weeks. East Coast mini-tour of ‘A2-B-C’ in March
Screenings of ‘A2-B-C’ will be held at the end of March in Washington, D.C, New York City and the Bryn Mawr Film Institute in Pennsylvania. More details, including dates, times and for which screenings Ian is scheduled to be in attendance, are here.
Marking the 3rd anniversary of March 11
As the third anniversary of the March 11 triple disasters are marked across the world this week, Ian has written two pieces on his blog about his experiences over the past three years. In this piece, he shared his thoughts about being labeled an “activist” filmmaker. Then in this one, he shared the English version of his article about the recently passed Secrecy Law in Japan. Originally published in German earlier this month, Ian shared publicly for the first time about one of the major obstacles he faced last year as worked to document the ongoing situation in Fukushima. 3rd anniversary of March 11screenings
As the 3rd anniversary of the March 11 disaster approaches, Ian continues to travel with his 2nd feature documentary about the nuclear meltdown, ‘A2-B-C’. Having recently visited India, Texas and Taiwan with the film (read about those screenings HERE), Ian is currently on his way to Germany where ‘A2-B-C’ (WEBSITE) will be screened on the opening day of the IPPNW-sponsored International Conference on the Effects of Nuclear Disasters on the Natural Environment and Human Beings (INFO). Anniversary screenings are also planned in Holland, Switzerland, Poland and the US (INFO).
