TWO World Premiers of DocumentingIan docs announced
It has just been announced that the World Premier of DocumentingIan’s new feature documentary 「おみおくり〜Sending Off〜」will be taking place in the 2019 Nippon Connection Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany, on Friday, May 31. Prior to that, the World Premier of DocumentingIan’s new short documentary “The Father’s Love Begotten” 「父なる愛生せば」, about the story of a young man who was sexually abused by a Catholic priest when he was 12, will take place in the Leiden International Short Film Experience on Thursday, May 9 with an encore screening on Sunday, May 12. DocumentingIan to Screen and Lecture at Stanford
After remaining largely silent on social media for the post six months, today DocumentingIan announced an upcoming week of guest lectures and screenings at Stanford University. Upcoming screenings of the DocumentingIan-produced Boys for Sale in Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland and the Phillippines will bring the total number of festival screenings for the documentary to 40! Meanwhile, a test screening of the new DocumentingIan-directed short documentary The Father’s Love Begotten, about a boy who was sexually abused by a Catholic priest, will be held near Detroit on November 2. Two new films directed by Ian announced
This week two new documentaries directed by Ian were announced. The first is the feature-length version of his 2016 program about end-of-life care, and the second is a short documentary about a young man who was sexually molested by a Catholic priest as a child. “Boys for Sale” awarded in Germany
At its Munich Premier this past weekend in the 2018 Nachtschatten Film Festival, Boys for Sale was honoured with the award for Best Feature Film. More about the festival, award and jury citation can be found on the DocumentingIan Blog. This brings the total number of awards the film has received to seven, six of which were for Best Film.
“Boys for Sale” awarded in India
“Boys for Sale”, on which Ian served as executive producer, received the Best Documentary Feature Award at the KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival in Mumbai. Details about the award, including the jury citation, can be found on the DocumentingIan Blog.

“Boys for Sale” awarded at Oxford Film Festival
