The young woman, introduced to the AP by Ian, was first featured in an interview uploaded on the DocumentingIan channel. For the past four days, Ian has been uploading clips of an exclusive interview with the first of the young thyroid cancers patients to speak out publicly. She is one of the 166 patients diagnosed or suspected of having thyroid cancer who were 18 or under and living in Fukushima at the time of the nuclear accident in 2011. Ahead of the fifth anniversary of the March 11, 2011, triple disaster, preview screenings of Ian’s third film in his series about the Fukushima nuclear disaster, are to be held in Japan (Feb 24), Germany (Feb 27) and Ireland (March 3).
