In magazine article, Ian comes out in Japan
With the post-production work on a documentary about male prostitution nearing completion, Ian was inspired to come out in an article published in Japanese magazine “5“. The bilingual (English/ Japanese) article has been re-published on the DocumentingIan Blog along with a series photographs.
Ian’s films screen in Munich

Ian attends German Premier of ‘-1287’, other screenings
This week Ian will be attending the German Premier of ‘-1287’ in the 15th Nippon Connection Film Festival in Frankfurt. Following the festival, he will travel to Munich for a week of screenings of several of his films at the Werkstatt Kino. Conversation between Directors Kamanaka and Ash published in Japan Times
A transcript of a conversation about filmmaking and Fukushima held between documentary filmmakers Hitomi Kamanaka and Ian Thomas Ash, was published in the Japan Times today (May 14, 2015).
