Ian’s latest film holds North American premier under new title
Ian’s second film about how the nuclear disaster in Fukushima is affecting the children living near the damaged nuclear power plant has recently been renamed ‘A2-B-C’. Full story HERE. The North American premier of ‘A2-B-C’ has just been announced. Details HERE.
Cultural Typhoon hosts screening of ‘A2’
A screening of ‘A2’ was held in Tokyo during this weekend’s Cultural Typhoon conference, “one of the largest events of Cultural Studies in Asia-Pacific Regions”. Following the screening, Ian, along with Toshi Fujiwara (‘No Man’s Zone’) and Atsushi Funahashi (‘Nuclear Nation’) participated in a debate with the theme “Representing Loss: the Ethics and Aesthetics of ‘Fukushima’ Related Documentary Films”. At the closing night ceremony, ‘A2’ was announced as the recipient of the Nippon Vision Award from among the 12 nominated films. Documenting a Demonstration in Tokyo
Since the March 11, 2011, disaster in Japan, Ian’s work has been focused mainly on the situation directly affecting the children living in Fukushima. Yesterday, however, Ian turned his camera on an anti-nuclear demonstartion in Tokyo. Some of the resulting photographs documenting the rally can be found HERE.
