“Sending Off” trailer banned from use in Facebook advertising
Facebook has banned the trailer of 「おみおくり~Sending Off~」 from being used in advertising after deeming it to be “shocking, sensational, or excessively violent content. DocumentingIan has responded by re-editing the trailer to include a statement which reads in part: Death is hard to talk about, let alone watch, but thinking about how we want to die has the potential to change the way we live. North American and Dutch Premiers of “Sending Off” announced
The North American premier of 「おみおくり~Sending Off~」 in the Newburyport Documentary Film Festival (September 14), and the Dutch Premier in Camera Japan (September 28) have just been announced. “Sending Off” and DocumentingIan to be featured on TV
Ahead of the Japan Premier of the new DocumentingIan-directed feature documentary「おみおくり〜Sending Off〜」at the National Film Archive of Japan on the opening day of the Pia Film Festival on September 7, the film will be featured on this week’s episode of the NHK World Japan program “J-FLICKS”. Educational Screenings of “Boys for Sale” held in Japan
This month, several educational screening of “Boys for Sale” were held in Japan, including Nagoya University in support of HeForShe UN Women Solidarity Movement for Gender Equality, a study session for doctors and other medical professionals in the University of Tokyo Medical Department library and with the Gender Studies Group at the International Institute of Language and Cultural Studies at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto. “Sending Off” receives Audience Award at World Premier in Germany
At its World Premier in the 2019 Nippon Connection Film Festival, the largest festival of Japanese film in the World, the DocumentingIan-directed “Sending Off” received the Nippon Docs Award (Audience Award for Best Documentary). “The Father’s Love Begotten” holds North American Premier
